The Program


Hussien Jabai, lead strength and conditioning instructor, develops all physical fitness programming and fitness testing for the Basic Peace Officer Course's physical fitness program. Additionally, Jabai provides the physical fitness instruction, guidance, and coordination of all physical preparation training.

Qualified Coaches


Strength and conditioning programs are coordinated and facilitated by certified, qualified strength and conditioning coaches. Coaching staff has research, academic, and in-field experience.

Fitness Testing


Physical fitness testing includes assessing a variety of fitness components, such as strength, power, endurance, cardiovascular fitness, anaerobic capacity, movement, and visuomotor/cognition.

Fitness Workouts



Cadets within the academy perform a periodized strength and conditioning program that targets movements and energy systems for real-world transfer.

Education

Aside from teaching TCOLE - Chapter 3 - Fitness, Wellness, and Stress Management, the physical fitness program empowers cadets through constant dialogue and resources to encourage life-long habits and application.

Embedded Research


The physical fitness program collaborated with the Health and Human Performance Department's R.O.A.R. H.P. Lab for exploration of "best-practice" in the tactical space.
